In the "Fightin Fifth" Battalion, Serving the Greater Mondawmin Community, and West & Northwest Baltimore Communities.

We all have important values and ideas to do our job better, things we care about and want to do, and make our job easier. Sometimes we feel our ideas can even change the world. In our line of work, the Public comes first and, "Failure is not an option". Fire Fighting is a career that only the chosen few can do, and adapt to the changing times that come with the job daily. Each fire or medic assist call is different, and I can not forget to mention that sometimes firefighting is the most thankless job in the world.

Engine Co. No. 52 was organized in the year 1921. The Mayor of the City of Baltimore at that time was The Honorable William F. Broening, and the Chief of Fire Department was August Emrich. The building which still stands today was located at the corner of Liberty Heights Avenue & Morris Avenue. Morris Avenue was the original name of the street which is now Woodbrook Avenue. Engine 52 is the only single Engine Company in the 5th. Battalion, and the busiest.

Engine Co. No. 52 runs calls in the 5th., 3rd., 2nd., and the 4th. Battalions. We are one of the few companies in the City of Baltimore that run with 4 Battalions.
